This 6-week training program is geared for athletes who have a priority of hiking on wilderness trails, with the goal of achieving hiking-fitness on trails of 10 miles or less with ease. The target athlete is someone who regularly hikes and wants to complete multiple day-hikes throughout the week, carrying only daily essentials (not geared for overnight backpacking).  This program builds upon a baseline fitness for those

individuals who can already complete a 5-mile hike with ease. Throughout the 6-week course, we will focus on improving cardiovascular fitness on varying terrain, prioritize rest and recovery, and involve training with weekly bodyweight exercises, supplemented with light dumbbell weights or resistance bands.
